How to Win at Paintball

By spending some time improving you strategies you will
improve the odds of winning your game. So, in order to
help, here are a few tips for your next game.

Know your own team - know who are the fast people who can
run at the front and who will be good anchors at the back
supporting the fast ones. The people in the rear need to be
able to anticipate where they think the opposition will
attack next. Know which side people feel comfortable
shooting. For instance, if you can only shoot on the right
you need to be that side so you are free and comfortable to
shoot.

Know the opposing team - One strategy is to try to
eliminate the strong players first and then the weaker
players at the end of the game. Alternatively you could
steer well clear of the strong players and go for the weak
ones first.

Someone must know where your opponents are - There must be
someone who can tell the rest of the team what the
opposition are up to and it will be up to you then to
decide what strategy to adopt. It could well be that it's
time to sit and wait. Patience and quietness are two
strategies that are often not played enough.

Once you've assessed the situation put your team in their
right places - The position is probably going to be the
winning factor so you need to assess where these are and
get your team to them. If you're shooting whilst you move
you will confuse your opponents and they won't know exactly
where you're going. Remember that your aim is to get to a
position where you can inflict the most damage. This could
well mean not going for one player if you could alter the
strategy slightly and get a whole bunker.

Pinching - This is attacking from both sides
simultaneously (and from the rear if at all possible). Get
into a position whereby the first shots will be as
effective as they can be but if you do miss fire in rapid
succession. Another sound strategy is to fire at a player
so that he is so busy with dealing with you that he is
unaware of one of your team mates coming up behind him.

Shoot while you move - This is effective but difficult.
You need to keep your gun level and this may mean that you
have to crouch and run a little slower than usual. This
will protect you as well as hopefully eliminating the
opponents. Make sure that you've assessed where your cover
is. If you find that opposition are employing these tactics
then you should shoot in front of them so that they run
onto the paint.

Communicate - Don't go off and do your own thing or you
could get shot by friendly fire. Tell people your plans and
ask for help. Remember that a team is far stronger than a
group of individuals.

Safety first - Paintball can be dangerous and you should
always be responsible and sensible. Make sure you wear the
right gear and watch what you shoot at. For instance, you
can only shoot others in the game, you should never shoot
anyone at close range and you should never shoot at glass
or anything that could shatter.
